Charles Darwin studied to become a clergyman and then became interested in natural history. In 1831 he set off in a naval ship HMS Beagle, to study Geology, Biology and natural history in South America including the Galapagos Islands. Here he studied animal and plant life and devised the theory of natural selection. 8 years -adult
